Newport Beach Kitchen Remodeling

Spring has finally sprung, and many of us are eager to get our home renovations underway that might mean Newport Beach Kitchen Remodeling. With so many project options available to the average homeowner, it is often difficult to determine the most cost effective home improvements. This is especially difficult for people that are trying to ready their homes for sale. One of the simplest and most cost-effective home improvement projects is the kitchen makeover. American families spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and those shopping for a new home place a lot of emphasis on kitchen design. If you are keen on updating your kitchen, whether for your family or for a potential buyer, the following tips can help immensely.

A lot of kitchen cabinets are available on the market today all you just need to know and think of is how you want to your kitchen to mainly look like and most importantly you need to consider your finances. You don't to have the high-end pieces just to have a nice looking kitchen you just need to have a good eye for true quality and beautiful things and you will be on your way to that great looking kitchen.

If you are ordering cabinets and countertops, remember that manufacture can be anywhere from eight to twelve weeks.

There are cabinets and counter tops that are already or almost finished and can just be placed in your kitchen, you can consider this or you may want something done exactly as your 'bespoke vision kitchen'. You may also need to consider if you need someone else to do it for you or if you can do it yourself.

There is no need to replace your kitchen cabinets, if they are constructed from real wood. Most people love the idea of natural wood cabinets so instead of replacing them, why not consider updating them? Changing the hardware is a simple way to give your kitchen cabinets an updated look. There are countless styles and designs available, and most of them can be had at extremely fair prices.

Adding a fresh coat of paint can do wonders for the appearance of your cabinets. It is simple enough to remove the cabinet doors and repaint them. Be sure to clean them properly beforehand. A light sanding will also help ensure that the new paint adheres properly. There are so many colors of paint to choose from. Consider using one of the antique finishes that have become so popular in recent times.

Since kitchen and also bathroom cabinets take a huge chunk from your budget, decide how much you want to spend on cabinets, in advance. You can do this by first deciding where you want your cabinets. Then take measurements of the area. Decide whether you want stock cabinets, semi-custom or custom cabinets. Stock cabinets are the most inexpensive ones followed by semi-custom and then custom cabinets. When you meet the expert with these rough ideas and figures in mind, he can give you a more accurate picture.

This is important to understand: The current kitchen's cabinets and floors must be removed. In order to accomplish this task, all kitchen cabinets, and drawers must be emptied of their contents. Major appliances must be relocated and in some cases, if new furniture is being purchased, the old appliances must be disposed of, remembering that you will probably require that the refrigerator be operational during the remodel.

Once the cabinets and drawers are emptied, they can be removed from the walls. The base cabinets will have plumbing connections, drains for sinks and water supply to taps, will most likely have to be unconnected and capped during the remodel. If there is currently a dishwasher, it will also need its water supply, drain and electrical connections disconnected. Garbage disposals have an electrical connection that will have to be disconnected. Then remove the kitchen platform.

Note: Light fixtures will probably need to be removed also and some method of temporary lighting installed.

All of this demolition creates an enormous amount of dust and debris. It is important to protect the rest of the house from the fine airborne fragments and considering the amount of grit flying through the air it is usually wise to rent a home dumpster, rather than counting on the local refuse to pick-up. In some cities and towns, a by-law requires that you rent a dumpster for any large remodeling projects.

Planning is the key to any successful kitchen remodel. While selecting cabinets for your kitchen, keep in mind that your cabinets should match the rest of your kitchen decor. Doors and drawers of the cabinets should operate smoothly. Don't just go by the looks of the doors of the cabinets because it's the quality and construction of the whole boxes that counts.
